Codex's Web services
cover a complete range, from simple static HTML content to dynamic
data-driven websites.
Regardless of project size, our approach to Web development uses the
same proven techniques used elsewhere in IT development - the software
lifecycle and associated methodologies are as applicable to Web projects
as they are to database and application development.
Usability and accessibility are fundamental elements in our Web design
strategy. Poor design (resulting from inattention to performance,
page layout, site structure/navigation, colour and metaphor issues)
produces frustrated and unsympathetic viewers who are unlikely to
make a return visit. We strive to incorporate established and emerging
usability heuristics (HCI) for effective and accessible Web design.
Where applicable, we can provide added client-side functionality by
the appropriate use of embedded plug-in content (including multimedia).
We can advise on the bearing such content may have on usability, and
the likely impact on audience share.
We provide dynamic Web content using popular Web server scripting
languages and SQL database servers. Our approach to Web database development
mirrors that used for conventional databases, with special emphasis
given to performance and security issues.
